A local shelter is getting their dogs and cats ready for their biggest adoption event of the year.
And, get this… You decide what your adoption fee is.
Over 200 dogs and cats will be out on Saturday, and if you fall in love with a furry friend, you can take them home at a fee that you get to choose. The fees will act as donations for the shelter.
We spoke to the Adoption Center Manager, Denise Phillips she told us that this event is one that’s highly anticipated by the organization because they need the financial support of the community. Phillips says, “It’s a never ending challenge… As soon as we save some, we find out that more are in need. So we’re always continuing to kind of face that battle. We’re also fighting the grand battle of making Alabama a no-kill state by 2025.”
All of the dogs and cats available for adoption are micro-chipped, spayed,/ neutered and up to date on their shots.
The event will start tomorrow at 10 am at the Petsmart on Carl T. Jones Drive. Denise Phillips says to just look for the big white tents!
The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, September 15 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
