Thirteen new traffic cameras going up in Morgan and Limestone counties

The Alabama Department of Transportation is installing 13 new traffic cameras in Morgan and Limestone Counties.

The cameras will monitor traffic flow and road conditions to help ALDOT provide better information about delays to the public.  They will be monitored through ALDOT’s Traffic Management Center on the campus of UAH. The new ALDOT cameras bring the total to 32 in North Alabama.

“This is an excellent way for us to improve the driving experience for everyone and to cut down on congestion on our roadways, without actually constructing anything,” said Seth Burkett, spokesperson with the Alabama Department of Transportation.

The cameras are expected to be operational by this Spring. You can always monitor traffic conditions here
