The Auburn Tigers women’s basketball team will face BYU in NCAA Tournament

 As is the case for the men’s team, the Auburn women are heading west for postseason play.

Coach Terri-Williams Flournoy’s Tigers will be traveling to California for an opening round game vs. BYU. The bracket shows the Tigers as the No. 10 seed going into a Saturday matchup at Stanford vs. No. 7 seed BYU. The other game at Stanford features the host school, a No. 2 seed, taking on No. 15 seed UCD.

Auburn is receiving its third NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament bid in the past four seasons, Coach Terri Williams-Flournoy’s Tigers are 22-9 overall.

The Tigers last played on March 8th in the quarter-finals of the SEC Tournament at Greenville, S.C. After defeating Alabama in their opening contest, the Tigers lost 64-62 to Texas A&M as the Aggies made the game-winning shot with 5.2 seconds left.

The 22 wins is the most for Williams-Flournoy since her final season at Georgetown in 2011-12 when the Hoyas finished 23-9.

The selection show, which was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. CDT, has been changed to 4 p.m.
