The search continues for Joseph Lee Davis, a work release inmate who walked off the job site at CPI on Hwy 127 on Monday.

Joseph Lee Davis was last seen in a gray Reebok hoodie, jeans, a black hat with white inscription and red brim, and black tennis shoes.

His girlfriend, Sandi Slaton, 33, of Athens, is charged with Facilitating Escape 1st Degree and Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree.

According to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, when investigators interviewed Slation as a person of interest in Davis’s escape, she admitted to providing Davis with a cell phone at his work site as well as bringing him money, alcohol, and food on occasion.

Davis allegedly used the phone to communicate with Slaton and others to assist him with transportation during his escape.

Slaton is being held in the Limestone County Jail on $30,000 bond.

Anyone with information on Davis’s whereabouts should call 256-232-0111.
