Scottsboro teen now faces manslaughter charge


A Scottsboro teen accused of accidentally shooting a friend in the face now faces a manslaughter charge, since that friend has died from his injuries.

Scottsboro Police arrested Jocob Isbell, 16, on July 3 after Anthony Scott, 17, was shot. Isbell was initially charged as an adult with First Degree Assault.

Scott succumbed to his injuries on July 4, 2019. Isbell’s charge has since been upgraded to Manslaughter, and he is still being held at the Jackson County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
