Employees at Raytheon were busy wrapping up more than 200 gifts Thursday afternoon, which they collected for local veterans’ families who could use a little extra help this Christmas.
Toys, gift cards, supplies, and food items were all packaged up, bow-tied, and picked up by Disabled American Veterans.
“I have actually called three or four of the families and spoke to them, and I basically got information about their situations,” said Tom Hayes, Communications Director for Ray Vets. “They’re definitely in need. By the time I got off the phone with them, I have never heard someone bless me so much in their life before. They were so thankful.”
A total of four local veterans’ families will receive the presents for Christmas.
