Hundreds of runners hit the pavement for the Rocket City Marathon Saturday morning, despite poor weather. The race, which has been going on for more than 40 years in North Alabama, is a qualifier for those who want to run in the Boston Marathon.
“The weather isn’t as bad as what I thought it was going to be,” said Jerry Olsen, who came from the Chicago area for the race. “So that’s not bad.”
The Huntsville Track Club is proud to presented the Rocket City Marathon, the new Half the Marathon, as well as the Kid’s Marathon.
