Project Playground to raise money for new play space in Huntsville

Today, people at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment set up for the Project Playground family festival.

There will be vendors, games, performances and other activities for kids and adults. Wristbands to get in are $6 per person or $25 for families.

Lowe Mill and Piper and Leaf Tea Co are teaming up to put on the event. They’re goal is to raise the funds needed to build a unique playground under the Lowe Mill water tower.

Lowe Mill A&E Event Coordinator, Matthew Bakula, said, “A creative play space is what we need here. This whole place is about that, like makers and artists working in a building together, so we wanted to create something that is accessible to adults and children.”

Project Playground is Saturday. Sept. 7 at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
