News

One man is in police custody and two people are injured after a police chase ends in a multi-vehicle wreck.

Marius Lamar Moore was booked into the Madison County Jail on Alabama State Trooper charges and served with a Madison County Sheriff’s Office warrant for Possession of Marijuana 2nd. Huntsville Police also has six warrants on Moore including Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Reckless Endangerment, and Probation Violation or Revocation.

The pursuit started with Alabama state troopers in West Madison County at Wall Triana near Pettus.

Troopers say at 1:30 this afternoon they attempted to pull over  a black SUV for speeding. The vehicle didn’t stop and troopers pursued it, calling for support.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Huntsville Police also assisted as the chase continued into city limits.

The pursuit ended around 2:00 p.m. in a four vehicle wreck at the intersection of Pulaski Pike and Mastin Lake. Officers believe the suspect blew a tire after hitting deployed spike strips.

The suspect, a 38-year-old black male, was arrested.

Troopers say a woman who is believed to be his mother got out of the SUV during the chase. She and one other person were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
