Several multi-floor office buildings are coming to MidCity District, along with more retail space.
The first office building will be built in the center of the district. It will be a 60,000 square foot building with 45,000 square feet of office and retail space.
Nadia Niakossary with the developer of MidCity, RCP Companies, said, “The top three floors are going to be office space. Businesses can either rent the whole floor or certain sections of the office space floors and then on the bottom floor is retail space, so restaurants or shops or commercial space.”
The other office buildings will be placed on the east side of MidCity. They will be 100,000 square feet with co-working and tech accelerator space, also with ground floor retail and restaurants. They say these buildings can accommodate different types of office users.
MidCity is already home to several businesses focused on entertainment, like TopGolf, Dave and Busters, and High Point Climbing and Fitness. RCP Companies says the office space will add to the overall vision of the development.
“It’s the idea of having office space in an urban environment, where somebody can leave their office and walk to a restaurant or one of the apartments in the apartment complex across the street, go shopping, do their grocery shopping right next door,” said Niakossary.
REI Co-op is scheduled to open in MidCity at the end of this month, and Wahlburger’s is set to open in November.
