(WIAT) — New technology is turning tattoos of sound waves into audio clips that you can actually play whenever you want.
The technology comes from a Los Angeles-based start-up called Skin Motion. They’ve made an app that creates a wave pattern of the audio you submit. Once the sound wave is tattooed, you can play the sound back through the app.
Some have used the technology to bring the voice of a loved one back to life.
“In some instances, this is a sense of closure for some people,” Mike Martin, a tattoo artist, said. “This is just something that means a lot to someone.”
There are only a select few tattoo artists across the country who are certified in audio tattoos.
