Motorcyclist killed after colliding with Huntsville Utilities utility truck

UPDATE 12:58pm – Shortly before 8:00 Friday morning a Huntsville Utilities truck was driving westbound on Oakwood Ave. approaching Grace St. He pulled into the turn lane and stopped to yield before turning south on Grace St.  

A Toyota Tacoma driven by a 59-year-old was behind the Huntsville Utility vehicle. A teenager, driving a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle, attempted to pass the Tacoma in the turn lane, striking the utility truck in the right rear corner. After the collision, the driver of the Tacoma did not have time to avoid the 16-year-old and hit him. 

 A blood sample was taken from the victim.  There were no signs of impairment from the other two drivers.  


UPDATE: 9:00a.m. –  Huntsville Police Lt. Michael Johnson tells WZDX that a teenage motorcyclist  struck the Huntsville Utilities truck and may have possibly been hit by a second vehicle.


One person is dead following an accident with a Huntsville Utility truck on Oakwood Avenue.

Police are still on the scene where a motorcyclist was killed after colliding with the utility truck at Oakwood and Grace Avenue’s.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
