The man who was allegedly involved in the incident that led to two school lockouts is now in custody.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, John Mclemore, age 20, has been arrested and booked into Madison County Jail.

He is charged with Aggravated Child Abuse 26-15-3.1, a Class B Felony, and is being held on a $30,000.00 bond.

Earlier Thursday, Sparkman and Jeff Road Schools were on lockout after an incident on Burwell Rd. Investigators responded to a call about an injured two-month-old child. Relatives believed the 20-year-old father might be responsible and that he was suicidal and on foot in the area.

Once the father returned to the house, the lockout was lifted.
