Madison County Sheriff’s Office no longer using “Nixle” to alert citizens

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is now using a Twitter account to let people know about emergencies.

They will no longer be using “Nixle,” which sent out text messages to the public if you were signed up.

The Sheriff’s Office says “Nixle” has added fees, and they cannot justify the cost when twiiter is free.

The new Twitter page is @MCSODispatchAL.
