A day after the Alabama State Department of Education released its Report Card, people in the community are talking about the scores.
Some fared well, some average, and some failed. Overall, school districts in Madison County improved on their report card grades.
Huntsville City Schools had the lowest average with a C. Madison County schools got a B, and Madison City Schools got an A.
Four schools in Huntsville had failing grades. Huntsville City Schools Superintendent, Christie Finley, said their C average does not reflect what was being done in the classroom.
“The Report Card is based on several different data points, but it doesn’t really measure everything that you see on a daily basis that goes on every hour in a classroom and every day in a school,” said Finley.
