Local students compete in Destination Imagination competition

Hundreds of people gathered at Bob Jones High School today for the Destination Imagination competition.

Students of all ages worked together in teams to complete challenges based on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. The teams had no help from adults.

The competition is put on every year to help teach kids and teens academic and soft skills.

11-year-old competitor, Ansley McMeans, said, “Even just coming to the tournaments and watching the other teams perform is really fun. It’s honestly just amazing. I love it.”

The teams that won today are heading to the state competition, and the teams that win the state competition will go on to the global competition in Kansas City.
