It’s been two weeks now since Cecil Ashburn Drive closed for construction.
The closure has impacted several businesses in the area, including the Southeast Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Byron Brown was concerned about the church’s future since the construction would mean a longer commute for many of its members, but he says things are looking good so far.
“Everything’s been going real smooth. Our people have been making it to church pretty well. It’s limited a few people from coming, but for the most part, everybody’s been making the journey pretty well and pretty smooth,” said Pastor Brown.
The closure is impacting about half of the church’s members, and many are still figuring out which route is best to take.
Pastor Brown says it’s been easier to get to church on Sunday mornings, and he’s seen a bigger impact on Wednesday services.
