Landing in the Rocket City in 2019

A new year means a fresh start, new challenges, new opportunities, and in the case of Huntsville, tons of new growth. Diverse restaurants and hotels are just some of what 2019 plans to bring to the Rocket City. 

We’ve compiled a list of things you can look forward to through the year!

A look at what's to come with Stovehouse.

Stovehouse Huntsville: The former stove factory on Governors Drive is receiving a new lease on life and gaining plenty of interest with some unique restaurants already committing to the new facility in 2019. Mazzara’s features a casual dining experience where fresh pasta and other Italian food will be served, Oh Crepe offers a unique spin on crepes, Kamodo Ramen will specialize in unique noodle dishes, and Pourhouse will serve wines from around the world as well as craft beer and specialty cocktails. 

MidCity Huntsville: Located where the Madison Square Mall used to be, MidCity is already seeing new life with the opening of Top Gulf in 2018. 2019 will bring even more exciting things to the development including a Dave & Busters, which is expected to open in July 2019, Highpoint Climbing and Fitness, an indoor climbing gym, which will open in the Spring, REI Equipment Co-op bringing outdoor gear in the Fall, and Pies and Pints selling unique pizza and craft beer this summer. Wahlburgers. the Wahlburg brothers’ chain serving specialty burgers, will open this year, and a Marriot Aloft Hotel will open in late 2019.

CityCentre at Big Spring: CityCentre will feature amazing views of Big Spring Park along with businesses, restaurants, and a 150-room hotel called AC by Marriott. With that, The Gemini Kitchen + Cocktails will also be located at CityCentre, offering quality American food at an affordable rate. There will also be office space. 

Times Plaza: Located on Memorial Parkway adjacent to the Whole Foods, it will offer retail and restaurant options.

Other restaurants will be joining Merchants Square at Memorial Pkwy and Bob Wallace in 2019. Some include Brass Tap, which will serve upscale craft beer, Melt, with classic comfort food with a twist, Char, a contemporary Southern-style steakhouse, and CHOPCHOP Fresh Salads, which will focus on seasonal salad bowls. 

Duluth Trading Co.: An outpost of this national chain is expected to open this year in town Madison. The retail store specializes in work clothing and other casual clothes.
