Jazz in the Park kicks off in Huntsville Sunday

News

Sunday’s are about to get jazzy in Huntsville!

Jazz in the Park kicks off with a free concert at Big Spring Park on Sunday and every Sunday in September.

Those running the festival say music unites people from all walks of life in the community. Keeping that alive through arts education is a big theme for Jazz in the Park. This year there will be pre-event concerts by local school jazz bands in addition to music workshops.

“We’re not just growing economically in terms of development, we’re not just growing in terms of our academic systems, but we’re also preserving the music and the arts,” said Kenny Anderson, Huntsville multicultural affairs officer. “We’re doing it in a way that’s meaningful to people and represents everyone in our community.”
