Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and for the first two weeks of February, folks will have an incentive to show the love for Huntsville. On Friday, the #iHeartHsv social media campaign kicks off. The announcement was made Thursday morning at the Huntsville Madison County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

The two-week long social media campaign is about raising awareness of Huntsville being a destination that people should put on their travel list, explained Kristen Pepper, Marketing Manager for the Huntsville Madison County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

For the next 14 days, folks are encouraged to follow the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau on social media.

“Each day, we post the question of the day on the CVB social media channels– Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram,” said Pepper. “People can respond to that with a photo or if they have a nice story to tell– they can do that on social media and be entered to win a selection of really awesome prizes.”

Over 200 prizes will be up for grabs over the next two weeks, which will include dining gift certificates, hotel stays, and gift cards to Huntsville attractions.

“Each day there is a winner that will receive a prize basket of a mix of all these different prizes,” said Pepper.

In 2018, Pepper says the #iHeartHsv campaign reached 12 million people. “That’s 12 million people hearing about the Rocket City and what there is to see and do in Huntsville, and each year we try to grow that and try to spread the word of the Rocket City all over and encourage people to put Huntsville on their travel list.”
