The Huntsville Comic Convention is underway for the thirs year in a row at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment.

Geeks, nerds, comic lovers, and the curious perused the halls of Lowe Mill Friday afternoon.

There were plenty of comic books, classic video games, comic-themed merch, and of course, folks dressed up as their favorite characters.

Shae Newton dressed as Catra from Netflix’s Shera.

“I think it’s just the fun of it, to be as accurate as possible,” said Newton. “That’s the best part — to look like the character and for people to recognize you as that character.”

Con Director of the Huntsville Comic Con, Xia Blanche, explained what guests can look forward to for the weekend.

“The next two days are going to be wild and different,” said Blanche. “Lowe Mill in itself is a different place in itself entirely. It’s like an island of fun. Now it’s going to be an island of fun on party mode.”

It starts on Friday at noon and lasts until 8:00 PM, and it’s going on Saturday from 10:00AM to 6:00PM. Admission is $15 for Friday. It costs $20 for both days. Find info about tickets here

This year, attendees can buy a variety of VIP upgrades at the door, including reserved seating for panels and events, signed posters, and photo ops. Click here for more info about VIP upgrades.
