Huntsville police raise $6500 for prostate cancer research

Last month was No Shave November for Huntsville police, who grew out their beards for a good cause. Thursday afternoon, the Huntsville Police Department presented a check to the American Cancer Society for funds they raised during that time. The department raised over $6500 for prostate cancer research, which was fitting as November is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

“We were really very thankful for that. It’s always so awesome to see the police officers in the community. You know on a day to day basis how much they do for our community to keep us safe but they’re taking one more step above and beyond the call of duty to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer,” said Kaki Morrow, Senior Community Development Manager for the American Cancer Society.
