Huntsville City Schools is auctioning off cars, work trucks, and specialty vehicles to bring money into the school district.
The vehicles, which the district has had for years, are now considered surplus.
Besides sedans and 4×4 trucks, there are also specialty vehicles with features like cargo lift-gates and tool storage boxes.
The vehicles are available for inspection until Friday, June 14 at 4:00 p.m. If you’d like to inspect them, contact HCS Asset Management Coordinator Lontrell Harris at 256-924-2365 for an appointment.
The auction is live now and closes on June 16, 2019 at www.govdeals.com.
According to the district, Huntsville City Schools conducts auctions of surplus items each month. In the last five years, the HCS Property and Asset Management Department has brought in over $1.4 million in cash for the district. A mission of the department is to make sure that items are either reused, recycled, or resold in order to eliminate waste.
