The Huntsville City Schools spokesperson says an interim chief financial officer will be appointed after the holiday break to replace the one whose resignation was accepted Thursday evening.
The agreement between Bob Hagood and the school system says he will work as a financial consultant for the school system until the end of January.
In August Hagood announced an accounting error that made the school system fall $3 million short of the $18 million in reserves they’re required to have. At the meeting board members questioned the job Hagood has done as the financial officer and ultimately accepted his resignation in a 4-1 vote.
WZDX News has reached out to Hagood for comment but has not heard back yet.
