Huntsville Police say the cashier at Hardee’s on Highway 53 escaped harm in a robbery attempt Tuesday night.

Police spokesperson Lt. Michael Johnson says a male subject drove up to the drive-thru window and when the cashier put her hand out for the money, the subject pulled a gun on her, demanding money from the cash drawer.

In a panic the clerk blocked his hand that he was grabbing her with and she was able to get free enough to run to the back of the store.

The would-be robber was startled and drove off without getting any money for his efforts. The store clerk called 911 and remained in the back of the store until police arrived.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6’3, weighing 120 pounds, in his mid-20’s. He was last seen driving a white Nissan Pathfinder with chrome mirror lights.

If anyone has any information you are asked to call the Huntsville Police Department.
