Topgolf is not your grandfather’s golf course. WZDX News got a preview of what guests can expect, and it’s hole in one.
Golfers and non-golfers feel right at home at this premier golf entertainment complex.
“I’ve been in the military for 28 years, never found time to do it. I’m now retired and started a new career, working with PWC here in Huntsville and looking forward to having some corporate events here and family events and learning how to golf,” said Brian Sperling.
Topgolf blends technology and entertainment, that turns what is known to be a quiet sport into a social experience.
“We offer not just golf but also delicious food. We have an entire restaurant, we have a bar on each level and we have a lot of games you can play with microchip balls,” said marketing manager Wiley Belew.
It’s newest location in Huntsville’s MidCity Development is adding 350 new jobs.
“The roles vary, we have bay hosts which are similar to servers in a traditional restaurant, then we have the management, then we also have golf pros, we have PSA certified golf pros and a lot of different food runners, dish washers, chefs,” Belew continued.
Topgolf said the three-story, 53,000 square foot venue is ideal for the Rocket City. “Huntsville’s a tech based community and it aligns with Huntsville very well and also Huntsville is growing so quickly, and Topgolf has seen this in Huntsville how quickly it has been growing,” Belew said.
