One of Huntsville’s most well-known volunteer rescue groups needs your help.
This is the last week you can donate items to Friends of Rescue for them to sell this weekend. The money goes toward the $22,000 worth of veterinarian visits they take animals to each month. This time it will also help them move to their new, bigger location at 2244 Highway 72 East.
The organization’s board president says they need volunteers to help with the sale and they always need volunteers to help foster pets.
“The shelters are full right now,” said Diana Crawford, FOR’s board president. “They always are in the spring, but they’re really full right now. What we do is when we get one adopted out it allows us to pull another one from the shelter and save more lives.”
The group will open its thrift store in the new location April 20th. The rummage sale is at 213 Oakwood Avenue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Volunteers can drop by during that time.
You can donate items for them to sell by dropping them off on Oakwood Avenue Tuesday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. or Thursday between noon and 6 p.m.
