Thursday night, the Madison County School Board named Dr. Mark Minskey as the Interim Superintendent of the school system, which serves nearly 20,000 students in the Tennessee Valley.
Dr. Minskey is currently the Deputy Superintendent and will serve until the School Board names a superintendent to fill the remaining term of Matt Massey. Massey left to become the president of the new Alabama cyber school.
Before being named Deputy Superintendent, Minskey served as the principal of New Market School. During his time at New Market, he and his staff earned the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Lighthouse Award in 2012 and the CLAS Banner School Award. His wife, Amy Minskey, works in the Madison County School System as a Speech Language Pathologist.
