Dothan man killed after trying to break up a fight

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan woman is now facing murder charges after a man was shot Friday night, according to the Dothan Police Department.

A release from the department states that Jeremy Rashad Sanders, 33, of Dothan was trying to break up a fight between two women at the 700 block of Monroe Street.

One of the women —  Suctorah Ty’keymah Duncan, 23, of Dothan — then pulled out a gun and fired a shot the other woman, only to hit Sanders in the torso instead.

Sanders was taken to Southeast Health where he later died from his injury in the emergency room.

Authorities have charged Duncan with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. With both charges combined, her bond amounts to $500,000.
