Lashawn Kentrell Caudle, wanted in connection with the December 21 shooting of Anthony Lewis, turned himself in to authorities on December 27.

On December 21, Morgan County 911 received a call of a shooting in the area of Parkway Place Apartments at 2115 Central Parkway SW.

Around the same time, officers with the Decatur Police Department were dispatched to the area of Central Parkway and Beltline Road SW for a man who was passed out behind the wheel of a 2007 Lincoln MKX. They found Anthony Lewis, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.

Lewis was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital for emergency surgery. He later died of his injuries.

Caudle was identified as a suspect. Authorities say that Caudle and Lewis were acquaintances and that this was not a random act.

Caudle has been charged with Capital Murder and is being held in the Morgan County Jail with no bond.
