Decatur man arrested on domestic violence, burglary, kidnapping, rape charges

Decatur police arrested a man on charges of 1st Degree Domestic Violence, Burglary, Kidnapping, and Rape on Tuesday.

Officers Damien Bankhead and Corey Cochran responded to the Hardee’s on 6th Avenue SE after a call to Morgan County 911 reporting an assault.

The victim had left her residence and called 911 from the restaurant. She had multiple lacerations on her head and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to police, Rodney Brown was identified as the perpetrator during the preliminary investigation.

Detective Sean Mukaddam met with the victim and obtained warrants for the arrest of Brown, charging him with domestic violence in the first degree, burglary in the first degree, kidnapping in the first degree, and rape in the first degree.

Officer Cochran located Brown walking on Highway 31S shortly after the victim was taken to the hospital.

Circuit Judge Steve Brown set the bond for each charge at $100,000.00.

Brown is being held at the Morgan County Jail in lieu of $400,000.00 bond.

Decatur police remind the public that the defendent listed is considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
