Collaboration: North Alabama counties commit to working together

Collaboration is the name of the game for a new group of city and business leaders from Madison, Morgan, and Limestone Counties.

The new collaboration called Launch 2035 is a formal commitment for the three counties to work together to advance the region as it grows.

They’ll focus on workforce development, entrepreneurship, and land use. The chairman says he’s seen how working together can benefit everyone and how not doing that has held the area back.

“We had communities competing with one another and we lost an opportunity,” said Bill Marks. “So this really symbolizes that spirit of working together. It provides that rallying point for us to, ‘hey look we need to work together.'”

The chairman says the new Singing River Trail a great example of how they can collaborate on land use. It’s a 70-mile multi-use trail in the works to go through the counties.
