The Huntsville Police Department praised interagency communication after it led to the quick arrest of a robbery suspect.
Chad David Terry was arrested after an attempted robbery at the Dollar General in New Market at about 7:15 am. In a post on Facebook, HPD said, “One of the great things about the LE agencies in the Madison County- Huntsville area is the level of communication and collaboration we have everyday. Everyone from the dispatchers at our 911 Center to the MCSO Deputies and our own HPD Officers kick it in high gear when we get a report of a criminal preying on our citizens.
“This morning the MCSO received a call of a robbery at the Dollar General in New Market about 715am. Later, an attempted robbery was reported at the McDonalds at Winchester and Homer Nance. MCSO and HPD Officers made contact with the suspect and after a short vehicle and foot pursuit he was safely taken into custody. One HPD Officer was injured but has been treated and released.”
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reported that Terry was booked into the Madison County Jail on two probation violation no-bond warrants, and that additional charges are expected in connection with the Dollar General robbery and several other area crimes.
