One woman is arrested and another in custody following a chase involving a stolen vehicle.
It started Sunday morning at the intersection of Highway 72 West and County Line Road, where authorities in Limestone County say they were in pursuit of a stolen white pickup truck. Huntsville police say spike strips were set up near Zeirdt Road and Madison Boulevard.
The chase continued on to the intersection of Pulaski Pike and Sparkman Drive as the tires on the vehicle were falling apart. The vehicle crashed into two other vehicles at that intersection, according to Huntsville Police.
The driver, Lori Friend, was arrested and is suspected of being under the influence of methamphetamine, police said. The passenger, Tiffany Robinson, was taken into custody.
HEMSI and Huntsville Fire responded and treated everyone at the scene of the crash. Two individuals were taken to the hospital, police said.
Police say Friend tried to swerve at and hit one of the officers while he was attempting to deploy spike strips on Zierdt Road. The case is still being investigated.
