A new hub of innovation just opened on the UAH campus Monday and they are ready for business.
The Invention to Innovation Center aims to spur business for technology start-ups. The goal is to increase the number of high-tech start-ups and opportunities for them, leading to a business boom and more jobs in the private sector.
Right now the new building has five companies moved in and will have three more soon. It has room for a lot more with 35 offices.
“The culture when you get into a place like this, there’s certain things that only another entrepreneur whose been in the trenches will understand,” said Joshua Crumbaugh, CEO of Peoplesec and a tenant at I2C. “It’s just getting that collaboration that you’re just not gonna get anywhere else.”
Officials say the center will support regional economies and education. Governor Ivey called it a “game changer.”
