SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Carolina Panthers and former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton hosted his annual 7 on 7 tournament. High schools from around the area went head to head in just helmets no full contact. Skill players on both sides getting plenty of preseason practice.

Cam’s father, Cecil Newton, Sr., says his son was molded and shaped because of 7 on 7 competition. It brought star power to what he has became. The Heisman trophy winner hosted the camp for two days.
