Business owners are bracing for the major road closure they believe could hurt business.
It’s one week away from the shutdown of Cecil Ashburn Drive. Business owners along the road are using the time to make sure their customers know they’ll be open and need their business. They say they’re unsure how the road closure will affect them.
Several of them say they have ‘regulars’ from Hampton Cove who will have to go the long way around the mountain.
“The main thing I want to let people to know is you can still access all the businesses up here so you can still go to Mellow Mushroom, you can go to Moe’s, you can come here to Anaheim Chili,” said Scott Harriman, owner of Anaheim Chili. “We’re all still here. We’re all still open.”
Construction begins January 7th and is expected to last 18 months to widen the road.
