For businesses dealing with the Cecil Ashburn Drive shutdown, your outlook may depend on which side of the mountain you’re on.
Those who work in the Hampton Cove area say they think the road closure will help their business. They hope people on their side of the mountain will choose to stay there.
But business owners in Jones Valley are worried about that. They want their Hampton Cove customers to still make the trip.
“It kind of restricts a lot of the traffic from going over the mountain and really leading more sales here and keeping them in the Owens Cross Roads area,” said Brian Dunn with Bedz Express.
“The main thing I want to let people to know is you can still access all the businesses up here so you can still go to Mellow Mushroom, you can go to Moe’s, you can come here to Anaheim Chili,” said Scott Harriman with Anaheim Chili.
Stores near the road closure are still open. The main trail head to Blevin’s Gap Trail is not.
