An Ardmore man facing separate charges for murder and child sex abuse was given a lawyer and arraigned in court Thursday in Limestone County.

Thomas Green supposedly admitted to accidentally shooting and killing his wife, Cheryl Holt, in January. A few months later he was accused of sexually abusing a three-year-old girl who was a family member.

The alleged murder happened on Levert Avenue in Athens and the alleged sex abuse took place on Sweet Springs Road in Elkmont in April.

The Limestone County District Attorney says a new court date has not yet been set. Green walked in and out of the court room on his own after making bond.
