AAMU to have the first zero-emission campus buses in Alabama

Going green hits the road at Alabama A&M University where they’re about to become the state’s first university to use zero-emission campus buses.

Tuesday and Wednesday folks can get a feel for the first electric buses coming to Madison County this July. University leaders say it’s a step in a necessary direction to preserve the future.

“We are educating the future generation so as we look to our young people for the future we want them to understand the importance of protecting the environment that they’re going to have to live in for generations to come,” said President Andrew Hugine.

The Green Mobility Expo continues Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. People will be able to tour the C-SPAN bus and students will discuss smart mobility.
