Meet our third furry friend for the 12 Strays of Christmas: Lucy the beagle-mix!
Lucy was found wandering the streets and is looking for a warm home and family this holiday season.
Lucy is two years old and because she’s at the shelter she’s a little camera shy, but that won’t stop her from being the star of your family.
“As far as I know she’d be fine with anyone,” said Beth Tumlin, animal care lead at the Greater Huntsville Humane Society. “She’d be fine with kids. She’s never been aggressive, just nervous.”
Lucy gets along well with other dogs and is actually comforted by their furry presence.
“Our vet actually fostered her and her puppies and she said just in a couple of days she was great in the house and she would cuddle with her,” Tumlin said. “So it’s just this kind of environment stresses a lot of dogs out but especially dogs like this.”
Lucy needs a loving home where her humans can give her all the assurance she needs.
“I think she would adjust to any kind of home quickly,” said Tumlin. “I think the best kind of home would probably be a quieter, calmer home because she gets kind of stressed out from all the noise and chaos.”
Lucy is up for adoption right now at the Greater Huntsville Humane Society. Contact them to adopt her.
