Boeing awards $50,000 grant to Decatur City Schools

The grant will be used to extend STEM programs throughout the district.

DECATUR, Ala. — Boeing has awarded a $50,000 grant to Decatur City Schools to help extend STEM education throughout the district.

The grant will help expand the Greenpower USA electric race car program to 4th and 6th graders, provide a 3-D printer for 7th and 8th graders and a composite lab that will be utilized by the district's Engineering Academy.

“DCS is committed to improving STEM Education with a focus on increasing the number of graduates with 21st Century skills ready for local engineering and advanced manufacturing jobs,” DCS Superintendent Dr. Michael Douglas said.
