The W.C. Handy Music Festival is a week of events in North Alabama honoring W.C. Handy, a Florence native who’s called “Father of the Blues.” Most events happen around The Shoals in Sheffield, Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia, and Florence.
Events take place from July 19 to July 28. Some of the highlights include:

– 35th Annual Mid-Summer Classic Three State Bike Ride

Cost: $45 dollars or $55 if postmarked July 15

Sunday July 21
– Barbecue and Blues with the Beat Daddys
2 p.m. to 5 p.m
Cost: $25 advance ticket or $30 at the door
Monday July 22
– Determined: Celebrating the Life of W.C. Handy

– Songs of the Shoals- the Legacy
7 p.m.
Cost: $20
Wednesday July 24
–The Combo Kings in Concert

Cost: $40 General Admission or $100 for VIP upfront seating and meet and greet access
