#GoPlayHSV campaign encourages play at Huntsville’s parks

Local News

If you haven’t taken advantage of Huntsville’s parks or recreation centers now’s the time because you could win some prizes.

The city’s #GoPlayHSV campaign kicks off July 1st with weekly challenges. Post a picture on social media with “#GOPLAYHSV” to show everyone your favorite places to get active.

Huntsville has more than 65 parks, 11 rec centers, and aquatics centers, splash pads, and dog parks. City leaders say they’re all important to quality of life.

“We offer a lot of things that maybe you don’t necessarily feel like you’re exercising,” said Ashley Polesak with Parks and Rec. “You’re having fun, you’re doing it with other people, but you’re still getting the benefits of being healthier, your mental health and your physical health.”

Keep tabs on the Huntsville Parks and Recreation Facebook and Instagram pages or the city’s website for the challenges starting next week.
