Need school supplies? Want to donate supplies? Here’s a list of events in the Tennessee Valley.


Huntsville Police have partnered with Boys & Girls Club to collect school supplies. Donations can be dropped off at any precinct between 8:00am and 4:00pm through this Friday, August 3.

Saturday, August 4 Back to School Fest 2018 11:00am-2:00pm Free backpacks w/school supplies while supplies last, live entertainment, free food, moon bounces, free haircuts, and more. Click here for more information.

Saturday, August 4, 10:00am-noon Family fun at a Back to School event featuring complimentary haircuts and kids activities like bingo and face painting. Click here for more information.

Back to School Block Party & Resource Fair – St. Matthew Church, 3200 Sparkman Drive, Huntsville. August 4, 3pm-6pm. Free backpacks while supplies last. Live entertainment, free food, speakers, family fun activities, prayer for students and leaders. Click here for more information.

Limestone County

Limestone County Flea Market is accepting donations of school supplies on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-5pm through August 19. Participants can register to win a 32-inch flat screen TV. Click here for more information.

Athens-Limestone Public Library is collecting school supplies with a “Forgive-a-Fine” option. You can have fines forgiven (up to $5) with your donation of certain items. Click here for more information.

Decatur/Morgan County

Decatur Youth Services – Back to School Jam – Ingalls Harbor – On August 10, the Back to School Jam will include backpack distribution, food, inflatables, games and an inspirational message.
