Athens High Football hits the field for Midnight Madness

First Down Friday Night

When the clock struck 12 the Athens high school football team hit the ground running. Friday was the first day high school teams across the state could practice in pads and the Golden Eagles wanted to be the first to do so so they hit the field at midnight.

It’s an Athens’ tradition called Midnight Madness. The team does it every year and hundreds of fans show up to watch the first practice in pads.
