HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Friday's storms from the remains of Laura cause a problem in some areas of the Tennessee Valley. Two in particular storms cause two different tornadoes in Cullman and Morgan Counties.
Northwest Cullman saw an EF-1 tornado that has estimated peak wind speed of 87 mph. The tornado touched down around 5:27 PM and traveled for around 5.56 miles.
Our second storm that caused a tornado happened in Eva, AL located in Morgan County. The Eva tornado was rated an EF-0, which is the weakest rating. Estimated peak wind speeds were around 84 mph. The tornado touched down around 5:58 PM and traveled for about 0.22 miles (40 yards), only lasting 5 minutes.
Thankfully, there were no injuries or fatalities accounted for in either of these storms and only minimal damage occurred.
