HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Unfortunately we won't be staying rain free this weekend! For your Saturday expect scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day and temperatures only making it into the low to mid 80s. Our futurecast has this playing out as a non-widespread event. This will just be scattered showers throughout the day. Some of won't even see rain at all tomorrow but we will see mostly cloudy conditions.
Sunday looks to be a carbon copy of what we'll see on Saturday with a little less cloud coverage. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 80s.
As for the remainder of June into the first week of July, it looks like we're going to remain pretty wet. The Climate Prediction Center has the Tennessee Valley under a 40% chance to see above average precipitation.
So far we've seen 42.80'' of rainfall at the Huntsville International Airport this year and I'm expecting these totals to continue to rise this weekend and into the week ahead. Here's hoping we dry out soon!
