Well, this is a new one, and maybe makes Florida a lot less appealing. It all depends on how you feel about reptiles falling out of trees.

Tuesday morning the NWS office in Miami Florida posted the above graphic stating that it may get cold enough for iguanas to fall out of trees.

The reason behind this involves the fact that iguanas are cold-blooded and get their energy from the warmth of the sun. When it gets cold they slow down and eventually become immobile. At that point, the iguanas literally fall out of the tree.

As it turns out the low in Miami was 40°, and the iguanas fell and then just stayed there. Not moving a muscle. They weren’t dead they were just being champions of the statue game.
