HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A mostly dry day across the Tennessee Valley with only a couple of isolated or widely scattered showers across the Tennessee Valley. Temperatures climbed a little more, but still fell short of seasonal norms. Now that we're into early July we should be consistently seeing 90° and that's just not happening.

Through the rest of the evening expect a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky. Temperatures will fall into the lower 70s. Expect some fog to develop in areas around water or areas with abundant moisture.
Friday will actually be a beautiful end to the week and a fantastic start to the holiday weekend.
That boundary that brought showers and thunderstorms to the Tennessee Valley Monday - Wednesday has really begun to move south this afternoon. This leaves us without a major forcing mechanism in the Tennessee Valley. This is actually really good news because it minimizes our rain chances on Friday and Saturday.
Instead of widespread rain we're talking about diurnally driven activity we're used to in the summer months.

It will feel hot both Friday and Saturday with heat indices nearing 100° both Friday and Saturday.
The Rocket City Trash Pandas are hosting a Block Party tomorrow evening at Toyota Field. The opportunity for any rain is very small. Overall it should be a fantastic evening for all. Please be sure to practice Social Distancing.
Independence Day will be warm with diurnally driven showers and storms possible. I cannot stress this enough that the weekend will NOT be a wash. Scattered showers are possible though.
